Error when Upload/Revise Items in Bulk

When I try to upload or add items in bulk, I get an application timeout error. This is very annoying as I have over 20000 items that I may need to revise. Is there a way around this?

try uploading in small batches
start with 1000 and if this doesn't work try 500 at a time
you may try asking your hosting company to increase your server timeout

You can also FTP the file to the server and then import it into Miva from there.

How might I do that? I uploaded the file but when I import from within Miva, how do I get to my server to select the file?

Check with your host to see if they can increase the Global Timeout in your Empresa installation. Perhaps bumping that up to couple more minutes will allow you to import bigger chunks of data at a time, without timeouts. Though if you are on a shared server, uploading 20,000 items at once may be a no-go no matter what you do. On a dedicated server you have much higher chance of being able to do that as you have 100% of all CPU and memory resources allocated to you and are not sharing that with any other sites/stores.

Upload it to the "/htsdata/Merchant5/s01/uploads/" directory and then just specify the filename as "/Merchant5/s01/uploads/filename.txt" in the browse for file box and click next
