    Unusual Google Activity in Store

Anyone seeing Google manually generating baskets and hitting checkout pages quite heavily? We've had 54 OCST sessions from them on one site and a similar number last week on another site. The IP address is 74.125.63.33, which is India Hyderabad Google Incorporated, but they use their Mountain View address for billing and shipping. Not sure if it is part of Trusted Stores or something else.

This actually seems to have something to do with using adwords. They are actually testing to see if your checkout system works and if you are using something like maxmind that makes it so they can't they will stop showing your adds after a warning email.

We were able to beg our adwords rep after explaining what was going on to get them to test inside the usa so it didn't trip the fraud protection. They seem to come back once a month or so because they don't seem to have anything better to do.

Yes, it's always the same fictitious customer (initials MM) who alternates between a Mountain View CA, Boulder CO, and New York NY address. This activity seems to pop up every several months. I don't think it is related to Google Trusted Stores because we do not participate.

        Yes, it was "MM".

Guess they could be testing that tax and shipping are as advertised.

        Thanks for the info,

Found my email from after they were not able to checkout because of maxmind stopping them from making it to payment info page...

Got a similar email from Google when we lowered our free shipping threshold and forgot to update it on Google shopping. They would have had to go through the checkout process to know the rates were wrong. (kinda scary)
