Shipping to Guam and Puerto Rico using USPS live rates

I am trying to enable just USPS shipping to Guam and PR. I know they have to Countries from some of the posts I have read on the forum.

So I restricted to USPS standard post to these 2 countries but still It won't display USPS standard post for some reason for these 2 countries.

Any advice or tips are appreciated

    Thanks

Re: Shipping to Guam and Puerto Rico using USPS live rates

I've always, on every Miva site, moved all of the US territories to the States list. They have US zip codes and I've never had any issues. They are essentially a US mailing address. Just need to choose the territory from the states list and US as the country. I've also removed them from the Country list to avoid confusion.

Maybe this doesn't work anymore? Better go test...

Did you check the address/zip code at the USPS website? Standard Post may not be available as a shipping method...

I think you are on to something.

Standard post used to be called "parcel post" and before that, it was known as "post and pray" since there was a good chance your parcel would NOT arrive unless there was Divine Intervention.

Standard Post gets thrown onto a truck (and I do mean "thrown" onto a truck) and the driver is given some general coordinates ("drive straight for 6 hours, then turn left. It's the 57th house past the sleeping brown dog,") and then given a stout pat on the back / swift kick to the haunches and is sent on their way.

If you actually want your customers to receive their items, then I would strongly advise AGAINST standard post... ESPECIALLY as they are shipped by truck, and those USPS trucks are notorious for leaking when they travel along the ocean floor to places like Guam and Puerto Rico
