    Synchro working with XP Pro

    Are there any users out there still using Synchro with XP Pro and Miva 9? Ours stopped working when we were forced to update from 5.5 to 9 and Miva tech support hasn't resolved the issue as yet.

    I would have expected that to stop working prior to upgrading to version 9 as it should have failed when the web server your sites are on had SSLv3 disabled to combat the 'poodle' vulnerability in fall 2014. My understanding is that Synchro would use the built-in web client features of the OS, which on XP, still attempt to use the insecure SSLv3 by default.

    In any case, Windows XP is not secure to be using at all at this point, let alone handling your customers' data, so I'd recommend ceasing to use that computer and definitely don't house a copy of Quickbooks with customer data on it.

      To add to this, there's nothing in 9 specific that would've caused this. I suspect it seemed related to 9 but was purely timing due to poodle. And David's advice is correct, you shouldn't use XP for anything that touches sensitive data.
