    Merchant Email Confirmations

    I just updated a store from using the old "Email Merchant Notification" module to "Template Based Emails"

    Now, they are intermittently having merchant order confirmations not coming through. What is different in terms of how this module handles the emails vs the old way so we can get these working properly again.

    There should not be any appreciable difference in how the messages are sent; the function that is used remains the same and your mail server settings would remain the same. The body of the messages are base64-encoded instead of plain text like the old module, and there are rare instances where that can trigger a spam filter. Do you have a spam filter you have control over that you could see if the messages did arrive but were filtered?

    If the site is hosted with us, you could give us the time of an order that this issue occurred on and we can check the mail server logs to see if the message went out or not. That will at least narrow down where everyone needs to look to further investigate.

      Thanks for the reply - The site is not hosted with you, so I am not sure on the spam filter.

      The weird thing is I went into the orders through admin that didn't get delivered and clicked on "Order Emails" and had it resend the email and the emails all went through. Why would that work?
