  1. Re: Is This Still The Correct Way To Convert an MMUI Store To A CSSUI Store?

Yes, Sandbox is a great tool for trying out changes to an existing web site without the extra work and cost of running a dev version of your site. However, since using a "ReadyTheme" replaces EVERY...
  2. Re: Can't get custom code to work on Product Layout Page

You'd have to run similar code in the Basket Contents template to detect a "prohibited" product (this would go after the " <mvt:foreach iterator="item" array="basket:items">" item

    <mvt:if...
  3. Re: Base ReadyTheme Navigation Sets / Layout Dropdown

    Jamie,

I've been pondering situations such as yours for awhile now...and not to be dismissive of the benefits or coolness of ReadyThemes, I personally am leaning towards the idea that ReadyThemes...

    Re: Wild Question

As Mark points out in Option 1, the best way is to include outside content INTO miva merchant...however, that is not often practical as one has to build many 'pages' or use categories as the content...
  5. Re: Can't get custom code to work on Product Layout Page

You want to be on the PROD page template, then look for the Product Display Layout. Just below that, you'll see Custom Fields with two boxes. You need to use the select the ones in the left hand box,...
  6. Re: Connect to database on another server

could be but i was thinking of straight data transfer...json would be the thing to use if this was displaying data in the user space at real time.
  7. Re: Can't get custom code to work on Product Layout Page

If you are using a custom field on the product page, make sure that field is assigned to the Product List (right below the product list template). Next, make sure that field is setup correctly and...
  8. Re: Products Have Doubled in the Store Front

Yea, I think Miva needs to put a "Skill" level rating on some of their "how tos"...(Not saying you're not 'skilled' but even I don't typically do direct database transfers on sites unless its ALL of...
  9. Re: Connect to database on another server

The other quite common way of doing this (if the data isn't too sensitive) is to have a module or just mivascript script connecting to a simple script on the remote SQL Server site.
  10. Re: How can a shopper buy and download a software product when checking out?

yea, someone (probably not you) is doing some serious "i don't care about my business so long as my preset notions are maintained" voodoo right now.

If you want, I'll personally tell him that that...
  11. Re: Products Have Doubled in the Store Front

Ah, you're 'moving' db tables? You should only be importing/exporting...unless that is what you mean. If you are actually moving them, than that's your problem. You can't really do that unless you...
  12. Re: Products Have Doubled in the Store Front

I suspect that you have duplicated SMT coding in your storefront, or some conditional within a product array loop that is incorrect and is writing the same item twice (<-- this is most likely).
  13. Re: How can a shopper buy and download a software product when checking out?

    Here's another point...

If this was "built in", or you could use 'built in' functionality to accomplish what the client needs, and you charge the client to set it up, do you go back in six months...
  14. Re: How can a shopper buy and download a software product when checking out?

So....how does the store owner pay for hosting the site...for his internet access...his phone...for oh, just about anything?

Almost ALL software developers are either going towards a subscription...

    Re: Can URLs be shortened?

A bit of work, but perhaps Miva could figure out how to automatically "trust" as new login from within the Merchant Admin.

    Re: Printable Quotation

You could fairly easily just create a print button anywhere you want:

    <form><input type="button" value="Print Page" onClick="window.print()"></form>

Then, setup that page with specific Print...
  17. Re: Suivant Changes Customer Login to Email Address?

input TYPE maybe used as a styling handle, but they also have specific behaviors in HTML:

  19. Re: Create customer account from Order Processing

Not perfect, but you could just create a customer entry for them. Errors are lessened cause you can copy the bill/ship info from their old order. Once the account is created, you can assign both the...
  20. Re: OSEL Payment Selection Options in Suivant

if you do the custom method you also need some JS to test that a "selection" has been made OR make one of the payment options a default. The problem with defaulting to one method is that some...
  21. Re: Get Customer Ordre IP Address

Just for prosperity, don't need toolkit to do this.

    IP: <mvt:eval expr="s.remote_addr" />

As I mentioned before, you can add this to a custom order field. On the OPAY screen, add

    <mvt:item...

  23. Re: Get Customer Ordre IP Address

You could also add this as a custom order field, writing the contents of s.remote_addr into a custom order field (i believe that's been shown on a previous forum post).

    However, IP geo location...

Re: Need help with mobile CSS

CSS applied to Tables is basically "advisory". Tables often times do what they want based on other stylistic effects. That's why we use

    table-layout: fixed;

    By default, tables use
