free shippng by category module needed

I'm looking for someone to create a coupon or non-coupon module that offers free shipping based on a category subtotal not basket subtotal. I'm upgrading my store to MM5. I use Emporium Plus' coupon rdemption module in my MM4 store. Here's the problem... I offer free shipping coupons for various brands (categories). The customer has to purchase a certain dollar amount (say $50) of products from that brand to get free shipping. However, the Emporium Plus as well as Sebenza coupon modules will allow a customer to use a free shipping coupon as long as they have one item from the specified brand in their cart and the basket subtotal is greater than or equal to the specified subtotal minimum. When this happens in my store, I have to contact the customer and tell them they have to spend xxx amount more of a given brand to receive free shipping. Some of them understand and purchase additional items. Others are peeved off because the system allowed them to use the coupon. Thus, I need a coupon or non-coupon module that offers free shipping based on a category minimum instead of the basket subtotal.

I can be contacted at 1-317-570-1577 or [email protected].

    Sincerely,

Re: free shippng by category module needed

Here is an example of my problem. I offer free shipping if a customer spends $40.00 on Hammer products. Existing coupon modules (emporium plus, sebenza) will allow the customer to use the coupon as long as they have one hammer product in their basket and the subtotal is at least $40.00. As you can see, the module doesn't work right. It should only allow a customer to use the coupon if they have spent $40.00 on Hammer products.

      Example:

Did you solve this? I will have an update for the coupon module tomorrow which will let you designate the subtotal to be the subtotal of qualifying products or category.

          Bill,

I still didn't have a solution to this. Thanks for letting me know! Is it available now?

Yes. It is covered in the "Order Minimum" paragraph at http://www.emporiumplus.com/v5/coupon.htm The example is with product codes. But you could also do it with category since the module supports category specific coupons too. So if your category was called SPECIALS, you would put ~SPECIALS|$ in the eligible input. Contact me off list for your update.

Re: free shippng by category module needed

I have a module that can do free-shipping for specific categories based on the quantity in the basket, as you described. If the other solutions don't work out for you, you can drop me a line.

              Thanks --
