Re: PayPal having issues intermittently at checkout

If we can repeat it, we'll track it down as a bug.

Re: PayPal having issues intermittently at checkout

I am on the phone with tech support right now. The tech on Saturday was able to replicate it:
[MIVA #KZL-246-14536]: Safari redirect to OCST page when choosing PayPal
      Thank you,

Mick is logged into our computer and we replicated the problem in Opera and Firefox. If you want to see it, you can call me back or go over to his computer now and we can show you. He is trying to replicate it on his computer
          Thank you,

Re: PayPal having issues intermittently at checkout

The error message was not being displayed on OCST because the code for the PaypalErrorMsg item had been removed from OCST page template. Getting redirected to OCST when PayPal sends an error to the store is normal but the error message was simply not being displayed.

Re: PayPal having issues intermittently at checkout

Having a similar problem with Paypal, don't know if it is related. In this case the customer will be on the OSEL page and click on Paypal payment method, they get to the Paypal website and enter their username and password and click the "login" button, the screen begins to load behind the login form (you can see it greyed out as it loads) then it goes away and you are still at the login page. So far it is happening only on Internet Explorer. Anyone else seeing this?

You should report it to Paypal. It is a hassle jumping through their hoops, but there is a way to call them after you log into Paypal.

Re: PayPal having issues intermittently at checkout

So, I don't know if this is the issue with Paypal, but it could be. I asked support about an issue with:
                    http:/http://www.widgetsupply.com
                    vs http://www.widgetsupply.com
                    vs widgetsupply.com

                    Here is their response:

Browsers do not consider that to be the same website and for security reasons will not send back cookies to a site they feel is different. We have an article on how to force visitors to only use one specific URL:

                    https://support.mivamerchant.com/sup...icle/View/1112

I updated it this morning, I will follow up if we get more complaints. However, I think the complaints are a very small percentage of the problem.
                    Thank you,
                    John

Re: PayPal having issues intermittently at checkout

I tried to switch our site over to Paypal Express and encountered this problem on the very first test order while running Safari on a mac. It comes back to the ocst page after logging in and approving the order on paypal. Then when you click continue it simply reloads the ocst page. I did the transfer over with a paypal technician sharing my screen. We then removed paypal express and I called miva support. Not sure why, but the response was one of unfamiliarity with the problem despite what has been written here. i'm hoping a solution to this problem is found soon.

When I called Paypal, their solution was to delete the cookies and try again. How are we supposed to get customers to do that?
                        Thank you,

Has anyone heard back from PayPal on this? I now have customers emailing about the same problem intially posted by rapidrepair

This is the exact issue we're having, where sometimes the Paypal link will redirect to the last checkout page. Is there a fix for this? Im seeing that this thread is over a year old. Ive updated Miva, am using current browsers & windows 7. It never takes me to the Paypal site to log in, but it always works for our Paypal rep, and our support team. It works for some customers. We get maybe, 2 or 3 orders a month through paypal direct. But a few customers have called to complain. Is it a Windows 7 thing?

I don't remember exactly, but reading back through it seems there were really two issues. For some reason, the customer was being kicked back to the customer info screen with no error message. Miva fixed this. From above

I think we were still having an issue after this, which is what this response is about:

I don't remember having any troubles for a long time. So, this must have fixed the problem for me. We do occasionally get a basket in WCW's show basket module that has a cart number without customer information. This is because the customer was paying with Paypal, but didn't complete the transaction after coming back from Paypal.
                              Thank you,

                                Hello onionringholder,

From what I have seen this has never been a OS or browser related issue. If the issue you are having is that you just get redirected to the OCST (customer information page) when you select PayPal from the OPAY page, then you more than likely are suppressing the PayPal error messages. Make sure that the PaypalErrorMsg item is assigned to the OCST page. If you are not comfortable editing these pages or need help, just email [email protected] and make sure to include a link to this forum thread when doing so.

                                Regards
