    Fraud - same bill/ship to

I just got two identical orders going to two separate locations. The interesting thing about these is that the Bill to and the Ship to match.
Is this some kind of a new fraud? Has anyone had a similar experience?
I usually see different ship to and bill to on fraudulent orders.

    Thanks!

We have seen this a couple times. Usually it is a Grandparent purchasing gifts for their siblings who live in different states/areas. Another possibility is that two people liked the items and each of them ordered them while talking about it on the phone/texting/etc... As with every order, you need to proceed with caution if it looks goofy. A simple phone call or e-mail may sort it out. Also, you may want to check with the credit card company to validate everything.

Re: Fraud - same bill/ship to

        I think I wasn't clear enough. :)

Order #1 for 6 expensive watches going to Florida via UPS 2nd day. (ship to and bill to matches)
Order #2 for 6 identical expensive watches going to Oklahoma via UPS 2nd day. (ship to and bill to matches)

Usually a fraudulent order has non-matching ship to and bill to because the credit card was stolen. In this case either fraudsters figured out a way to trick AVS verification or they are plain dumb.

        Thoughts?

I would call the credit card company and check it out. Sounds very suspicious.

Could be looking to redirect or intercept the packages--call you or UPS to change once the order is shipped, have someone present at the time of delivery...

Do you check the IP address of suspicious shoppers?

(not sure how this showed up under my "new posts"--just saw the date)
