Upsale Bug?

Hi folks! I've seen a couple of threads on here regarding inventory going negative because the product is an upsale product. I'm having this same problem and was wondering if this has been addressed at all?? I am using Miva's built in inventory tracking system with no 3rd party modules regarding inventory. I don't want to have to hide out of stock products or remove the upsale item when it sells out and these seem to be the only solutions offered at this point. Is there no way to force Miva to forbid the purchase of a an upsale item that has zero inventory or better yet, not show the item on the upsale screen at all???

If you're using our built in upsale system those bugs still exist and will be addressed when PR9 ships.

Kent from The Magic M has a module called Upsell Magic and I'm not sure if his module runs into the same issues.

Hi folks --

The Upsale Magic module provides upsale-style discounts (buy "X," get a special price on "Y") on the shopping pages, instead of during checkout. It uses its own database tables, so it's completely independent of MM's built-in upsale system. It's been in use since 2005, and I'm not aware of any bugs.

Would love to know if there is a workaround. Seems the built in upsale functionality just completely ignores inventory tracking.

You might be able to use multiple upsell...and then use SMT code to Hide the first item (if out of stock) and show the "backup" item.

This won't be fixable in the built in system until we completely re-write it sometime during the PR9 update series (likely around this time next year for Upsale).

We are trying tiers now....but it seems Miva can't handle tying a single product to a tier. Also, our products are all in stock....it's the color inventory variant that would be out of stock and that's what's not working.

Ouch....ok....guess I'm going to need to get creative!

Does anyone know of any 3rd party modules that do upsale based on cart total....not per product? We already have Upsale Magic....but that won't work in our case here:
