Re: Emporium Plus Template Data Feed - variants

When you export, you just export the active. The module handles the "extra" variant products even though they are inactive.

Go to your admin. Find one of the inactive products. Copy and paste the product code so I can see if you are using the default _ delimiter. For example, in my store one of the variant product's code is BOGUS_red_full. BOGUS is the master product code. red and full are the option codes of the options that match that variant product. There is an underline between each code.

Re: Emporium Plus Template Data Feed - variants

Yes I'm using the default delimiter. Here are some of the variant parts

      96999XX_XL30-Gold
      35xx_03 DarkBlue
      521xx_01 Rust
      37xx_36 Fuchsia

      I hope this helps

It should be working. Create a new feed template exactly like the one you have so you (or I) can test. Then create a test product with a color attribute. Use the built in variant generator to create the variants. Make sure the underline character is the delimiter. Then run the feed and see if that product exports. If it does not, contact me in a private forum message with all your admin login info.

Re: Emporium Plus Template Data Feed - variants

I want to thank Bill Weiland for his excellent help. He noticed that I didn't select properly an item in the setup of the feed. There is a place above where you enter the header and product strings that has a pull down. in-stock Status - "you want include Out-of-stock items". With this I was able to get my feed to include the inventory variants. There still is a couple of issues. The feeds includes "out-of-stock" as the stock condition on the variant items even though we actually have stock of the variants. I don't think Google is going put these items in the Google shopping store with this condition but their help section doesn't state what they do as far as I could see.

A 2nd problem I see is when you take the link generated in the feed for the product and paste it in your browser I get an error.
              It says

              The page at www.artisticartifacts.com says:
Unable to locate form for inventory attributes
              OK

This stops the browser from completing the display of the page. I think the Google spider is going to consider this a bad page. I don't believe this has anything to do with Bill's template feed but something being caused by the Sebenza module because the link works find on parts that are not using the Sebenza module. It is possible we have an error in the Sebenza module setup but I haven't found them very helpful in the past. If someone has seen this error and solved it, I would appreciate some input.
              Thanks,
              Chet Vincentz

Re: Emporium Plus Template Data Feed - variants

Re: the first problem. You aren't actually tracking inventory in your store with the variants. If you set the stock level high on them they will not sell out and the feed will indicate "in stock". The current version of TDF does check the stock status of variants so it will correctly indicate in stock or out of stock.

Re: the second problem is not related to TDF.
