Add FedEx International Ground to FedEx Web Services

Please add this service to the FedEx Web Services mod. This service is the primary way USA based companies can ship economically to Canada via FedEx. It is a standard service so hooking up to the API should be a "breeze".

It's just ground that will show up if a customer enters a Canadian address that is eligible to get a Ground shipment. Make sure ground is active, go through checkout for an order and choose a Canadian address. I just tested this in my store before replying and got a Ground option while using this address

OK thank you for the info. I would put in as a dream feature that Miva display a different name for Canadian ground - something like FedEx Ground International. This would help with setting up automated shipping rules in programs like Shipworks.

Is anyone having problems with FedEx Ground to Canada? The rates calculated by our store are way below what is calculated on the Fedex Website.

Re: Add FedEx International Ground to FedEx Web Services

When you ship via FedEx Ground to Canada entry fees, which are steep, are not calculated by the module and unless you make sure they are being collected by the receiver then you will wind up with them on your FedEx invoice. When you ship via FedEx express services, like FedEx international Economy, those entry fees are included in the price and the only extra is duty, which can be just a small amount and is collected on the other end from the customer. The real price difference between ground and express may not be much; Express has no surprises and is much faster. We learned this when scrutinizing some FedEx invoices. It's almost like FedEx ground and express services function as two different companies when shipping to Canada.

FWIW, I believe this is actually true, as I understand it they are actually different companies behind the scenes (but all owned by the same parent) and they operate that way.
