Configuring the New Amazon Payments Module

    Hi All,

I work for Amazon Payments and wanted to provide a quick walkthrough of the setup process for the new module.

    1. Register for the new Amazon Payments Advanced service.

Amazon Payments Advanced is a brand new service that is separate from our existing Checkout by Amazon (CBA) solution. That means you’ll need to go through a registration process, even if you have an existing CBA account (the good news is that you can continue to use your existing module and account while you setup and test the new one).

You can register for Amazon Payments Advanced at the link below. If you already have Checkout by Amazon, you can add the new service to your existing account by clicking the “Do you already have an Amazon.com account, or would you like to resume a previous incomplete registration?” link.

    https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/...plifiedLogin=1

    2. Login to Seller Central

Once your registration is complete, you should login to Seller Central (http://sellercentral.amazon.com) to complete a few extra steps. If you’ve registered for multiple Amazon services, you’ll see a dropdown at the top of the page that lets you move between the different services.

    3. Create a Test Account to use in Sandbox Mode

Select “Amazon Payments Advanced (Sandbox View)” from the drop-down.

Under “Integration” -> “Test Accounts”, you can create test accounts you can use when your module is configured in sandbox mode. You can use sandbox mode to make test purchases without processing an actual payment.

    4. Setup Your Account

Select “Amazon Payments Advanced (Production View)” from the drop-down.

You’ll need to complete a tax interview and setup your bank account, even if you’ve already done so for an existing account. You’ll see a message and links to complete these steps on your home page when you switch to the Production View.

    5. Get Your Account Keys

Open a separate browser tab or window for Seller Central and the Miva admin interface. You’ll need to copy and paste 3 things to configure your Miva module:
    • Under “Settings” -> “Integration Settings”:
      • Your Merchant ID

    • Under “Integration” -> “MWS Access Key”
      • Your Access Key ID
      • Your Secret Access Key
      • Note: If you don't see keys, you'll need to create new ones, which you do by clicking the link under "Create MWS Account":
        • Login using your Seller Central account.
        • Select the "I want to access my own Amazon seller account with MWS" option.
        • Accept the licence agreement.
        • Your keys will be setup in your account, you can ignore the IDs you see on the final page.
        • Go back to Seller Central (http://sellercentral.amazon.com) to the "MWS Access Key" page to see the keys you'll need to configure into the module.

    6. Test Your Setup

Once you’ve setup the module, it should be configured in sandbox mode to create test orders. You can use the test account you setup earlier. We recommend trying out both your customer-facing checkout flow as well as order management to get a feel for how orders are processed.

    7. Go Live

Once you’re ready to setup your live site, configure your Miva module to production mode and you should be ready to go.

    8. Order Management

You manage orders entirely within Miva's order management interface, as you would with a standard credit card payment gateway. There's no need to process the orders via Amazon's Seller Central website as with Checkout by Amazon.

    FAQ

I see two buttons when I configure the module...

Miva has identified a bug with the initial release. There is a workaround that will let the plugin work in production mode only. More details posted here:

    http://extranet.mivamerchant.com/for...-Been-Released

How do I change the size of the Amazon widgets?

The default size of the Amazon address and payment widgets may not fit into your customized layout. If so, you can change the dimensions of the widgets from the Miva admin interface.

From the Miva admin interface, go to "Pages" on the left nav. Go to the page where the widget is placed (by default on the pages with prefix "AMAZONPAY_*") and select the tab named "Amazon Payments Address Widget" or "Amazon Payments Payment Widget".

Do I have to migrate if the old module is working fine for me?

No. The Checkout by Amazon solution will continue to be supported, though the new plugin addresses several issues with integration between modules, visibility for analytics and the ability to use Amazon Payments and Miva’s promotion engine together, so we recommend new integrations use the new module.

How do I get assistance with my account setup?

You can use the “Contact Us” link in Seller Central to get 24x7 support. During business hours, you can also email us directly at [email protected], including your website and the email you login to Seller Central with.

Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any feedback or comments.

How does the pricing/terms differ from Checkout by Amazon?

The pricing and terms are the same for both: https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdu...s/pricing-plan.

Re: Configuring the New Amazon Payments Module

How do you process orders with Amazon Payments from Miva's admin console?

Processing an Amazon payment is a two step process. You first authorize the payment, which holds money on the customer's account, and then capture which actually charges the customer.

The first step, "Authorize", will be done by the module as soon as the buyer checks out. When you view the order, you'll see the authorization on the right-hand column under "Payment Type: Amazon Payments". Authorizations start out in the "Pending" state, meaning Amazon is still processing, which usually is completed in 2 minutes, but in rare circumstances can take up to 24 hours if it gets flagged for review by our risk team. The state will change to "Open" when we've successfully authorized funds and you can begin processing the order.

To charge the customer, you just push the "Capture" button. You should perform the "Capture" within 7 days. You can still attempt to do so for up to 180 days after the order is placed, but depending on the customer's card, the authorization may have expired and thus the capture is more likely to fail, so be sure to "Capture" before shipping product.

You can also "Void" an authorization if you don't want to "Capture", such as when the customer cancel's their order. After you "Capture" you can perform one or more "Refund"s for all or part of the captured payment.

Can I capture when the order is placed?

There is an option in the module to automatically "Capture" when the order is placed, but we recommend you wait to "Capture" until you're ready to ship to avoid customer complaints. If you'd still like to immediately "Capture", or need to because you are selling digital goods, please open a ticket with us via "Contact Us" in Seller Central so that we can review and mark your account.

Can you refund orders in Seller Central?

Unlike Checkout by Amazon, you can perform refunds directly from within Miva's order management interface. Just view the order and click the "Refund" button.

Can someone tell me why my installation may not be working? I followed yesterdays webinar and all the installation procedures so far. I have the little popup box opening but after I log into my amazon account to proceed and the box closes, I am not taken to the OCST checkout page? http://www.nationaljewelerssupplies.com/

            Hiya,

Is there a site where you have it live? One possibility is that you can't use the same account as both the seller and buyer.

            Thanks,

            Robert.

Re: Configuring the New Amazon Payments Module

Robert is right, when testing and you log into the first pop up, don't use your account that is associated with your store or it will just close.

EDIT - Lynda, I just tested your configuration and if i was to venture a guess I would say to check that the module is assigned to the checkout pages or you may also be missing the amazon code from the below templates that will reside in the header

              • BASK
              • AMAZONPAY_OCST
              • AMAZONPAY_OSEL
              • AMAZONPAY_OPAY

              Code:
              <mvt:item name="amazonpay" />
make sure your store is updated to the newest release.

                    Hello Lynda,

Are you positive you or your client went through the proper sign up steps for creating this new amazon payments account:

                    1. Login to Seller Central (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/).
                    2. Select "Amazon Payments Advanced (Production View) in the drop-down at the top of the page.
                    3. Go to "Integration" -> "MWS Access Key".
                    4. Under "Create MWS Account", click the link.
                    5. You'll need to login with your Seller Central username/password one more time.
                    6. Select the "I want to access my own Amazon seller account with MWS" option.
                    7. Accept the license agreement.
                    8. In a new window, so you can cut-paste into your Miva module config, open Seller Central (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/).
                    9. Select "Amazon Payments Advanced (Production View) in the drop-down at the top of the page.
                    10. Go to "Integration" -> "MWS Access Key".
                    11. Cut-paste the new access key and secret key into your module configuration.

                      Hello Lynda,

I had a developer take a look and they said if you're up to date (which this store is, PR8 update 12) that you don't need any of that manual stuff in the header, all you need is just this code below in the head section of the main page template on the BASK page.

                      Code:
                      <mvt:item name="amazonpay" />
                      <mvt:item name="amazonpay_button" param="head" />

I can see a Javascript error on the page after login. I think you may be missing an element from your page template, could you verify you see the following in the headers of those pages:

                        Code:
                        <mvt:item name="amazonpay" />

What if we don't use MIVA admin to process orders (Lets say we use Monsoon Stonedge Order manager to process orders). How can we capture the charge. Do we need to request Amazon to Capture the charge and not just Authorize?

It depends what version of SEOM from what I understand, but yes setting it to immediately capture also solves that.

How do you capture Amazon Payments after the item has shipped?

In Manage Orders the payment has been Authorized but the Capture button is not active. I click the Authorize button and there is a modal that asks me to select the payment card type. Amazon Payments is not an option. I don't know which payment card to select because Amazon hasn't told me so cannot continue.

I have entered the tracking number and have selected the items but the capture button is inactive.
