Email customer when assigned to price group

Need a way to have the store send an automatic email when the store owner approves (assigns) a customer to a price group.

FWIW - the store owner mentioned that she used to have this function in her "old" store. I'm assuming it was an MM4 store.

I *think* one of Bills modules do this, something like follow on contact module or something.

Not mine. There is no API function to test in admin when the store owner assigns them to a group.

The old CrosstownTraffic Module could temporarily place a customer in a price group by reading an inbound affiliate code. Perhaps someone built a custom function to read that and send the email.

If you are assigning customers to price groups manually via the admin there is no email action tied to this event. Your best option is going to be to create a email for it tied to the Customer Account Action under Template Based emails and manually send it when you assign the customer to the price group.

I was hoping there was something less "manual". I already created a new template for this. Is there any way to trigger the event within miva admin? I guess we will have to create custom program for this as I know people have been asking for this functionality for a few years.

I think if you have a new email template in the miva admin then when they select assign to add that user to the group it could pop up a window and ask if they want to send the email to the user or not.

I have done this as a custom feature in my Customer Group Track module. It is not in a production version of the module. Basically, the admin drills down to the customer, when the admin assigns the specific PG or AG, then an email is sent. There are other things to consider, making this a customized feature.

LOL or at least brought back. StarBase21/ModStop had a great one that would automatically assign but I can't recall if it was able to send out an email.
