    Emailing after fixed time from order to gather feedback

    Hello,

    I wanted to send an automated email to customers say 30 days after order to solicit their feedback. This would mean automatically collecting peoples emails from orders that were exactly 30 days old, and repeating this every day.

    Is there a way to do this?

    My store sends a thank you email two weeks after a sale using the Follow-on Contact module from Emporium Plus (http://www.emporiumplus.com/1AA00085.html).

    Features: (some features are only in the compiled version)
    - Send after-sales emails at configurable number of days in the future
    - Obtain feedback from customers relative to the shopping experience at your store
    - Provide a promotional coupon to increase the chance of return visits and sales
    - Generate product specific after-sales emails for one or two dates (each product can have a different number of days in the future)
    - Remind customers of re-order needs or companion products to the ones they already bought
    - Order reminders with quick add to basket link for each product to be re-ordered
    - Remove after-sales emails for a specific troublesome order
    - Put module in initial test mode to avoid improperly written and configured emails
    - HTML or plain text formatting
    - Can change character set from default iso-8859-1 to others, e.g. utf-8, in html emails
    - Email layout, wording, and design is configured in admin with templates and tokens

    This module captures pertinent order information and uses it for generating a follow-on email. This gives you an opportunity to guage customer satisfaction with your store or provide them with a reason to come back and purchase again, e.g. with a coupon embedded in the email.

    I'd go with it unless Miva will be adding the feature in the very near future or someone tells you a way to do it with the built-in Template Email system. Follow-on Contact is dead-simple to use.

        To automate the email you'll need to use Follow-On Contact that Keith and Dave already suggested. And it'll do exactly what you ask for. It has some downsides; if an order gets cancelled for example, you have to remember to go into the admin and remove that order from the module to prevent that customer from receiving a follow-up. Testing the module, in my opinion, is clunky. You have to manually purge the log from time to time, too. Little things.

        You can create an email with the built-in Miva Template Based Emails, which would be a nice place to administrate all your templates for customer/order interaction emails. But you have to send them manually from Manage Orders or Manage Shipments. I'm hoping Miva will come up with a provision for us to send custom template based emails via import or batch or something.

          Mark - You don't have to manually purge the log in the current version. It hooks onto the cleanup system in miva.
