    Product Specific Sales Report

    Hello All,

We are licensed to sell specific items. As part of that licensing we are required to file a report that shows quarterly sales for a specific product range. We have been fumbling with the built in reports menu, but have not navigated a viable solution. There are about a thousand products in this licensed category. Of which we have sold probably 100 of them. We tried making a csv, but the columns stop in excel after a certain number, yet most are blank because of no sales. Is there an external module to make this work. We have the ones by island tech which do not goto product specific ranges. Or maybe is there a way to only show non zero sales in the built in report. It's hard to believe that with this robust miva system that the reporting area is so lacking in features. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Product Specific Sales Report

Your best bet is a custom module that will generate this report with a single button click. Any other approach (i.e., use a pre-built module, then do x, y...then A if B=2) would probably waste more time than a custom solution would ever "save".

Also, though the built in reporting tools aren't the greatest...I doubt that a reasonable complete set of reports would do want you really need.

You can rebatch the products by quarter. Then run a template based batch report for the specified category.

Thanks Bill. While I've been a miva guy for decades, I'm looking for a solution that does not involve a series of steps tha tmost would never know how to do.

Thanks Bruce. Can you PM me if you are interested in quoting some custom work. We use the orders section everyday and need a couple things moved around and a copy to clipboard button for the customer ship to address. We repeat the same processes dozens of times per day and would rather pay to have it more efficient. Thanks for your time.

I agree that a custom module is the best bet but you may want to simply upgrade excel to a newer version. Every Excel upgrade offers more rows and columns. Excel 2007 has 16,384 columns and 1,048,576 rows.
