    Is Sebenza still in business?

I can't get any response from their support. I have two tickets open (7086 and 7090) and haven't hard anything back for a few days.

Re: Is Sebenza still in business?

Take a look at my post from late last year:
    http://extranet.mivamerchant.com/for...le-suggestions

Basically, Miva and Sebenza say they are still in business, but quite frankly....I'd steer clear of them. Support awful to completely unresponsive.

Re: Is Sebenza still in business?

We currently use Sebenza's Ultimate SEO Links for our current site MM4.24, and need it for the MM5.5 we are migrating to. Given the recent climate with some third party module developers that provide SaaS solutions requiring same to make calls to license server, I cannot help hesitating using this solution for our new site.

Changing to any of MM5.5 SEO URLs options on a very well established website could have a catastrophic.

      Example of current URL structure:

      Home: www.MySite.com
      Category/Subcategory Pages: www.MySite.com/[PrefixText]-[CategoryCode].html
      Product Pages: www.MySite.com/[PrefixText]-[ProductCode].html

      Suggestions?
      Thank you, Bill Davis

Did you check with the built in SEO settings in 5.5? Pretty sure you can have a prefix and custom delimiter.

MM Tech support advised that due to our current URL structure (explained earlier), MM5.5 would NOT be able to replicate same, and thus need a third module if we wish to keep current URL structure.

Probably very easy. Where is the PrefixText coming from. Is it fixed store wide or does it vary by product or category?

We use the same prefix text store wide.

Should probably consolidate this into a single discussion: http://extranet.mivamerchant.com/for...arged-me/page3

You could use the tool kit TKSL function. Use the .htaccess file to test the code after the - and before the .html (slight modification of the .htaccess example). Redirect to the TKSL page with the code. That function in the tool kit performs some logic to shortcut as to whether the code is a product or category code, then sends the code to the correct page and item. In the .htaccess you would strip the prefix text between the / and - along with the -.

Re: Is Sebenza still in business?

I've reached out to Sebenza twice via support tickets, over a month and no reply.
I've e-mailed Scott at his personal e-mails I've had for years... no reply.

Scott has moved on, and let this business die.

Very upsetting between Sebenza and emedia...

Thanks, Kevin. It's now been 7 days and still no response from Sebenza. The sad thing is I just paid them $70 to upgrade our Reviews module to the latest version.

And that is what pisses me off......this guy continues to take peoples money, yet things are broken and there is no support. We went close to a month before he finally (barely) updated the ticket. This was with me tracking him down and his other company and leaving voicemails and emails.

That's why I recommend people stay FAR AWAY from Sebenza.

What's his other company? I noticed in the other thread Rick from Miva said he would help. I guess that didn't work out?

I wonder if the same way a module developer can remotely disable a module, can MM remotely intervene and disable developers ability to disable merchants module when issues such as these arises.
