Does anyone know of a method to display reviews from Amazon on a Miva site? We sell a lot of our products on Amazon as well as our own website and would like to display the Amazon reviews on the Miva site.
Thanks, Kent. I saw this too. But I think it uses an iframe and is only good for 24 hours. We use Sebenza's Ultimate Reviews module and was trying to figure out a way to just pull the Amazon data into it. I doubt this will be possible, though.
If the data's available, a custom module should be able to retrieve it and write it into the same DB table where the Sebenza module stores the in-house reviews. I've done that kind of "4th-party" hookup before.
Kent, do you know where Sebenza stores the reviews information and how to access it? Sebenza has been absolutely no help with previous issues we've had. I would consider them out of business at this point.
The only other issue I thought about is the legality of reposting the Amazon reviews, if Amazon considers them their "property".
A while ago I wrote a module that pulls reviews out of the Sebenza module; the client wanted to store them in another place. So I have some experience with the DB, as well as similar hookups to other modules of theirs. I know that Sebenza has been the subject of a number of complaints lately; but I've found their modules' DB designs to be "clean" and easy to work with.
If you do a little digging, the iframe via API is your only choice. Anything otherwise would be extremely risky as mentioned previously. I highly recommend against implementing something that would place Amazon's reviews in the Sebenza Ultimate Product Reviews & Ratings database. Your opening yourself up to litigation.
