Do GD graphics functions work for large files?

    Hi folks --

I have a client who wants a module that will make thumbnails from very large image files, up to 100MB. Will MM's built-in graphics functions work for a file of that size?

    Thanks --

In talking to Dev, there's no inherent reason that wouldn't work.

That's good to know. I wonder how long it will take? Do you folks have any info about performance, perhaps some stats on smaller files from which I could extrapolate?

      Thanks --

I'm not sure what we have, but since we're in the final strokes on V9, my guess is I won't get any kind of answer soon enough to help.

I do know that ultimately it's simply just a function library that enables GD, so anything you find about GD performance in general (say using it via PHP) should apply to Miva as well.
