Sift Science, new fraud detection app, seeking beta testers

Sift Science uses the same technology that Amazon and Apple use to fight fraud, machine learning, for online businesses of all sizes. Some of our large customers include Match.com, airbnb, and Open Table. We are finalizing our Miva Merchant plugin and are looking for Miva beta testers.

Sift has been very effective for merchants of all sizes. For merchants that have already experienced fraud, we’ve been able to significantly reduce manual review times, while also being maintaining remarkable accuracy. More information about Sift can be found on our website.

Please reply to this thread if you’re interested! I look forward to working with you.

    Best,
    Erica

    Hi Erica,

Now that this has gone live, do you have Miva Merchant specific installation instructions?

      Hi Leslie,

Yes, the Sift Science Miva module is live!

Instructions on how to install it are here: https://support.siftscience.com/hc/e...ience-for-Miva

Step one is to go to the app.miva.com and add it to your cart.

We're looking forward to fighting your fraud!

      Best,
      Erica

I am still running miva version 5.5 (we are in the process up upgrading to the new version). I need something that will block an ip address for 24 hours or so after 5 attempts from the same IP address. Will your module limit the number of payment attempts from one IP address?

          Hi there,

Currently, you are not able to block any orders in Sift Science. We provide a score, and you can decide what to do with it. If you have access to a developer, you can also call our Score API and block or hold orders at a certain score threshold.

Sift predicts fraud based on the fraud patterns your store, and all of our customers, have encountered in the past. If you tag those IP addresses as bad in Sift (through labeling), we'll learn that those orders are bad and they'll receive high scores. You can also do a custom search by IP address in Sift Science and watch out for those.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

          Thanks,
          Erica
