    SSL Connection

We are having a problem just like what occurred back in April with Shipworks and downloading orders.

We get the following error in Shipworks:
"The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS".

In April I believe there was a change to the servers that had to be reversed in order to correct the problem.

The site is hosted on the Miva servers.

    Re: SSL Connection

My suspicion is this has to do with the Poodle bug that was found this week. We had to turn off SSL V3 Permenantly to protect against it (as everyone else is around the web).

I'd check with Shipworks to see if that's causing an issue.

What OS are you using? If it's Windows XP, you might be forced to upgrade.
    Thanks,

Got it, it probably is or was using SLL 3.
      I'm running Windows 7 so that's not an issue....this week :)

        Re: SSL Connection

I believe Shipworks relies on the underlying operating system's web connector to handle its https requests, so it would be dependent on the computer itself being able to make a https connection to the website in question using the built-in web browser, Internet Explorer. If IE can make a https connection to the website, Shipworks *should* be able to as well.

With the change we had to make regarding SSLv3, old versions of IE (6 or lower) on Windows XP computers will definitely no longer be able to connect to hosted sites, and applications on that same setup would probably not either. I believe later versions would not have that issue for at least web connections, but older email apps still would, such as Outlook 2003, which will probably not be able to connect securely at all to anything at this point in time since it can't do TLS encryption.

If you're still having an issue, please open a ticket and we can try to figure out what's going on with you, us and the Shipworks folks. If necessary, we could at least re-enable the vulnerable SSLv3 for a minute or two for you to test so at least we can isolate that as being the problem.

Thanks for the offer David, but it is the SSl 3 issue and we have a work around in place to get the data we need.

Every browser works fine on all my machines. The problem is downloading payment data into Shipworks.

You need to update Shipworks. They released an update on 10/15 because of the SSLv3 bug.
