Developing in Miva 9 with Firefox does not seem to be a viable option. I brought this up in a different thread yesterday but my observations didn't seem to get much traction so I don't know if this is just my setup or others are seeing anything similar.
Miva 9 is bringing Firefox to its knees. It is very slow, scrolling is not smooth, there are delays while typing. And not just in Miva admin. While logged into Miva admin, ALL Firefox tabs are slow. As soon as I log out of Miva admin everything is back to normal.
The following also happened...
Using Firefox I made some edits in a page template field, then without updating began scrolling and while doing so the page began to reload. Nothing was saved, which is good, but obviously scrolling shouldn't cause the page to reload.
And now I can't log out of admin (in FF) because the main menu scroll bar is not working at all and the Log Out link, which is at the bottom, is unreachable.
All of this is sending Firefox memory usage through the roof.
I am not seeing problems like this when logged in with Chrome.
I do almost all of my development in Firefox because of Firebug. Right now I'm having to login with Chrome and check things with Firefox/Firebug (which I prefer to the Chrome dev tool).
I've done enough switching back and forth yesterday and today to convince myself that Miva 9 and Firefox do not play well together, but perhaps there is something else going on...perhaps a Firefox add-on.
Has anyone tried using Miva 9 with Firefox? Are you seeing the lack of performance I'm seeing?
