Just curious, where is the new category tree section now that we have updated? Everything looks the same as 9.0 in the catalog area.

In the dropdown menu - you should now see a little arrow next to Catalog. FWIW, I find the drop down category menu to be a little touchy. Make sure you click on the arrow to activate the next category level.

        Ah, got it.

I think one of the things we need most is a quick way to assign products to multiple categories rapidly up and down the appropriate section of the category tree, but this does not really help that function. It would be a more useful feature for quickly assigning a product to multiple categories if it popped up under a product and had a quick assign button.

I'm having the same problem on our dev. store.

This is very nice. I cannot help being impressed and pleased with how quickly MIVA reacted with this particular and type of issue.
            Thank you, Bill Davis

Furthermore, there is no way to drag or alter the order of the subcategories easily. We don't need to sort, we need to swap spots.

I don't see the "show order" eye for sorting by number any longer...is this gone?

No, the Sort Order isn't gone (nor has it moved even).

Yes, I see the name ascending/descending, but we used to see the order and were able to switch numbers to change where the category appears. Is this now gone?

I don't want to sort alphabetically, nor by code.

No, that is not gone either. I've asked Dev/Support to jump in and help you figure out why you're not seeing it where you expect it.

Can you clarify which screen/list you are referring to? Are you editing a category and attempting to sort the products assigned to that category, or editing a product and attempting to sort the categories? Or none of the above...? If you are editing a category and attempting to sort products, you need to be showing assigned and active products. If you are editing a product and attempting to sort the categories, this has never been an available option.

We added a new subcategory that needs to go between 2 specific prior subcategories. These particular categories are not sorted alphabetically.

In other words, we have a category of AUDIOS. Beneath this category are audios by specific ranges (subcategories). We just had a new range that needs to be inserted between two other ranges as it is related to both.

We don't want to sort everything because we have certain categories at specific places on our site. For example, we have Gift Certificates and Closeout Specials at the bottom of our category list as these are not major product lines. We would not want those alphabetized with the other lines of products. We just want to put the new category in the middle of a set of subcategories that are already listed.

                          Re: Update 9.0001

                          Hi whona

                          1. Go to Home > Catalog > Categories.
                          2. Select (click on) the category you want to change the display order of (do not edit).
                          3. Click on the "edit display order" button (the one with two arrows on it, one pointing up and one down)
                          4. The category you selected will now have its display order highlighted, change the value to what you want and click save.

Note: to see the change take place in the category hierarchy you will have to refresh the top navigation bar.

                          Hope this helps
