    Restricting Categories/Products via Availability Groups

We are in the process of creating a wholesale channel within our online store.

We have the pricing and shipping pieces of the puzzle all set up and we're now trying to figure out exactly how to restrict certain categories and products that we'd like to treat as retail only.

Price Groups only control pricing so they cannot be used to hide or restrict access to the categories/products in question.

When we try to set up a "Wholesale" Availability Group which disallows access to the things in question, that setting restricts access to the general public which is certainly not the direction we want to go.

We want the normal retail customer to be able to see, and purchase at retail, every item in our store.

We thought about creating a wholesale category and assigning the selected items there but that would force us to have a secondary shopping funnel for our wholesale customers which is not what we want.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

You can add some logic in the template code, so that when someone is logged in as a wholesaler you hide the "retail only" products from displaying.

This can be done with toolkit to check if they are in a price group and a custom product/category field to determine if that product/category should display.
