How to sort products or categories?

Is there a way in Miva 9 to manually sort products by category? This was available in Miva 5.

What about manually sorting subcategories? (Had been using Advanz Designs Sort Categories.)

I need to be able sort manually, not alpha or most recent.

Found where to display the order. For products, when using the sorting buttons, whether alpha, or other sort options (active, alternate display page, etc.), is this only change the display order, or does it change the order of the products permanently in the store?

The display order is the what Miva uses to determine the display on the front end. If you change that field on the admin side it will also change the front end.

Maybe an "are you sure" confirm would be good. It wasn't clear that changing the sort order is permanent. But that could be because I never used it in Miva 5.

Their must be some secret sauce to make this work. I am sorting products using "Name Assending" and for some reason products in the store are not in ascending order.

Check your CTGY page and look at the Category Product List Layout. There should be a drop down for Default Sort Method. This must be set to default in order for the Sorting you do via the admin to work.

That seems to be set correctly. I think the problem is that I am using Emporium Plus Category Manager.

I was using the Emporium Plus Sort Categories and Products module which worked fine under MIVA5. But in MIVA9 it is missing buttons to do anything at all. I just purchased the upgrade thinking that was the problem but still no way to use it. I submitted a ticket but if anyone knows the solution I will let support know it's taken care of:)

I am looking under Utilities at the module settings.

Update = I found out that the CTGY Page has a slider which can turn sorting on or off and it was off. So When I turned it on sorting happened on the site. I still would like the Emporium Plus module to work as that takes care of all the products in all the categories at once.
