    Miva 9 - SEO Drop

We switched our site to Miva 9 two months ago. Since our change we have seen a 30% drop in organic search volume. Has anyone else experienced this with Miva 9 and does anyone have some suggestions on why this would happen.

All the products/pages stayed the same. The only large change was moving from long links - /Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=M&Screen=CTGY&Category_Cod e=food-plot-seed-mixes (old link) - to short links - /category/food-plot-seeds.html (new link). 301 redirects were done properly.

This isn't anything related to Version 9, but your URL change.

I would double check that all the redirects are in place. A lot of times we see variations on the old URLs that are not being redirected.

Go to Google and search site:www.domain.com/Merchant2/

Hopefully this should not return any results, or the ones that are indexed are all being 301 redirected.

Also check Google Webmaster tools for 404 errors and make sure your XML sitemap is updated to the new URL structure. Lastly make sure you are implementing the canonical URL meta link tag and that is pointing to your new short URL.
