We need instructions on installing the miva mini basket on our site.

Hello forum: Have upgraded our Viking UPS rate module to latest version, now toolkit minibasket has stopped working. Guess we need to retire the toolkit mini basket.
Enabled Miva mini basket in items but no basket is shown on the BASK page. Can someone direct me to documentation on installing the Miva mini basket.
    Thanks,
    Larry

Would also like to make the switch. Still using Bill's mini basket which takes customers directly to basket page when an item is added to their basket.

There are two steps to enabling the built in Mini Basket.

      1. Under Utilities, go to Add/Remove modules and install the mini-basket module.

      2. Once installed, put this item tag where you want the mini-basket to display (usually in the global header)

      <mvt:item name="global_minibasket" />

Hi Brennan: have done the 2 steps are you advise, but no basket is showing. How do you determine which page is to display the mini basket?

Check that the module is assigned to all pages (component modules usually need also to have their items created/assigned) to page.

As for which pages, mini-baskets are usually made available to ALL pages (that's why its recommended to place it in the global header).

oops, actually I have this <mvt:item name="global_minibasket" /> in both the global header and category tree.

Re: We need instructions on installing the miva mini basket on our site.

After adding <mvt:item name="global_minibasket" /> to the category tree header and enabling the mini basket item on the sfnt page, I get a link to the BASK page but nothing else. i.e. basket items do not display.
                  What am I missing?

The mini basket only displays when you have something in the cart. Try adding something then click on the mini basket link.

It must have healed itself because when I clicked the link again, the mini basket popped up. That's progress.

Hi Brennan: We currently are using the Emporium Plus mini basket module. It provides calculation of shipping when a customer is not logged on by allowing the entry of the destination ZIP Code to be used in the calculation. Does the Miva mini basket allow this also or must the customer be logged on so that their shipping address can be used for the shipping calculation?
                          Thanks, Larry
