Can you click on the mivaicons.woff entry in the network tab (doesn't matter if it the icon font loaded or not) and then click on the "Headers" tab. Scroll down to the "Response Headers" section and copy those response headers into a response here. I'm particularly looking to see if it contains anything about caching (Pragma: No-Cache, etc), but it would be helpful to see the whole list.

Also, would you be willing to open up a support ticket so we can take a closer look at your store and see what is going on? The icon fonts shouldn't be giving you issues like they are and I want to make sure a.) we get you back to a working state, and b.) if there is a larger problem that we can get it resolved and the fix pushed out to everyone else who might be experiencing similar issues.

          Re: Miva 9 VENTING!

I've seen this problem on one of my clients' sites ... I think. When I click on any of the three attachment links, I get an error message, so I don't know exactly what's going on. But I have seen some admin pages where the usual button icons didn't show up, and instead I got those little rectangles with hex codes inside. My client didn't see the problem, so it may be browser-or cache-related. (I'm using the latest version of Firefox on Windows 8.)

Our host upgraded us to Miva Engine 5.22. Seems a little faster, but I think the issue still remains......the new admin does not pre-load records. So any fast scrolling results in the loading items. In 5.5 I always had my item per page set to 500 and it never had a problem loading the page (even though most times there were only 150 or so items).

That's what I'd want to see in the new admin......pre-load based on the setting.

              Re: Miva 9 VENTING!

As much as i want to love this new setup I have to say i don't. Sure it looks pretty, yet that's not the top of the chain for me. i cant get in quickly and out like i used too even with the most smallest of tweaks. if you have a site with a large amount of products or categories wow. Its almost like looking at a map that's zoomed in to close and you need to back out to see everything which cant be done which is infuriating. Too much white space, meaning things so blown out its hard to just go down a list and check that long missed tick box. I miss the old layout plain and simple.

There is no doubt there is a learning curve to this new layout, but after a few weeks into it i don't personally ever see in its current form being as navigational as quick across the board. No offense meant in any way shape or form guys... I keep thinking the term KISS in this case which the old layout was in every way shape and form.

                Dan,

You should also talk to Brennan and show us why. The feedback on the new admin has been about 70/30 and we're committed to making it 95/5 if you will (I'm not sure we can ever get to 100/0).

But I don't learn enough from your statement above about how we could actually solve your real pain points (and I'm not sure we can via Forums).

                Kevin,

I'll talk to Dev, I'm not sure on that request.
                Thanks,

I will add to the vent by stating that it is more mouse clicks to get anything done. Nice features were added for certain, but it's not created with productivity in mind. No one should have to provide details on exactly why, just try shipping orders and creating labels. It was terrible before and now it's even worse. I updated our instructions for people here and I have more steps on the list to do the same thing. I hope future updates keep productivity in mind. I don't pay people to click the mouse more often.

Why isn't there a Price Group Tab while in Customers like in v5.5? Perhaps it was the Emporium Plus Price Group Manager that added that enhancement, but it no longer works in v9. Need to go through Marketing > Price Groups.

Try mapping out what are simply "Step Wise" clicks...i.e, clicks that get you to where you need to do something, and then creating a "Bookmark". You can even name these bookmarks things like:

                      Order Process: Step 1
                      Order Process: Step 2
                      Order Process: Step 3

                      Ship Status: Step 1
                      Ship Status: Step 2

                      --OR--

                      By Task:

                      Ship Status: Send Items
                      Ship Status: Lookup

That should reduce the clicks, provided your team remember to use the Bookmark feature.

The reason Rick is requesting anyone with post-upgrade usability/productivity issues contact Brennan to outline their specific use cases is because that may result in several things occurring:

                        1) He may be able to show you an alternative method in which to accomplish what is taking more time that you may not be aware of.

                        2) In relation to the above, if there was a way to do what was taking you more time that you were not aware of, then we can try to improve how these procedures in the new interface are communicated, whether it be better conveyed in the written documentation, video tutorials, forum posts, etc.

                        3) He'll work with our software developers to improve the interface if a change has resulted in an issue we did not predict that has no workaround. For example, the new search interface that is coming soon to help those who had been using very large pagination and browser searching to find text strings amongst their product data.

Each customer's specific details help us know what exactly is occurring so we can improve upon the situation.

                          Hi Michael

I can understand your frustration when something new should be better. In many cases MM9 is, but like yourself there are a few store owners who have had things become more difficult for you. I have had a couple of store owners that had some major issues with the Category listings. The team at Miva took the time to listen to them, go over their steps and as a result that little arrow that lists out the categories evolved. I know when I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue, I try to get as many details as I can.

Miva is listening, please take the time to detail what you are going through.

I'm going to close this thread for 3 reasons:

                            1. The OP actually sent me an email saying they now "get it" on V9 and are improving their productivity issues.

                            2. At some level it's become a small pile on of "venting" without much constructive criticism.

                            3. The most important reason, as both David and Leslie said above is we're actively working with clients and seeing changes be released in the next (or coming) versions, so please take the time to tell us what is actually slowing you down and if it's not something we have a better way to do in the new admin we'll look at making changes.

Going forward post your V9 Admin Optimization Requests to this thread: http://extranet.miva.com/forums/show...987#post428987
