Importing Additional Image Fields Not Under /mm5/

I have a customer whose product images are located outside the /mm5/ directory structure. Instead, they are under httpdocs/images/whatever...

Is it possible to import these into the additional image fields? I have tried both of the following but neither works:

    /images/ImageName.jpg
    ../images/ImageName.jpg

or will it not work unless the images are physically located somewhere under /mm5/?

    Thanks,
    Susan

The script works only if they are below mm5. They don't get assigned when they are not below this folder. There maybe a way but I don't know it :)

What I usually do is go to the server admin interface (plesk) and copy them to the right place.

Hope to see you at the conference!

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. Thanks, Andreas. Yes, I'll see you there!

Andreas (or anyone else) - any idea if it would work if we left them where they are, but created a symlink from the location under /mm5/ to the existing location?

That shouldn't be the case. You can have the images in any directory you want as long as the path is correct in the spreadsheet.

Hmmm... right now I'm seeing that the image itself doesn't even load, though I can see it on the FTP site. Something is weird about that whole directory. Let me go try it with a different path.

Re: Importing Additional Image Fields Not Under /mm5/

Brennan, yep, it works with a relative path:

              ../images/ImageName.jpg

For some reason some of my files can't be loaded even though I see them on the server, and those were all of the ones I was trying to import. So it's a completely different problem. Thanks for your help.
