    Session Management

Is there a way to assign seat licenses to users? I need a license (rolleyes) so that shipworks can download my orders and since it doesn't have the ability to log people out it will just fail.

    In 9.0003 that'll be possible.

      Re: Session Management

This thread was the closest match to my question so I apologize if I'm hijacking it. We recently upgraded to 9 and have 1 license. We wanted to flush out our workflow first to see how this worked before buying additional licenses. I'm seeing weird things though - for example I logged in this morning and saw the "buy additional license(s)" screen - it says we only have 1 concurrent user, however 2 other sessions were already active - an admin user and StoneEdge. Both show active sessions. Plus the IP address of the first two sessions were the same (which they should be as they are co-located) but the IP address of my attempted connection was way off. It was almost exactly the same as the other 2 IPs (only 1 segment changed) but I'm completely across the country from the other 2 sessions.

So I'm confused on how the sessions are being handled. The system seems to be tracking concurrent users but isn't preventing them - or maybe StoneEdge is circumventing the process and showing up as 1 user because of the IP?

      Any thoughts?

      Thanks!

        Re: Session Management

It does prevent them from actually functioning, but once you attempt to login and see that screen you're "counted" as a user (it's worth noting you're not charged or in any way penalized).

So if Shipworks is logged in, when you try and login, you'll see a user count as 2.

        Does that make sense?

Makes sense, but I don't think it's actually working that way. I was the 3rd user to login but we only have 1 license. Somehow StoneEdge was allowed to login concurrently and it's functioning fine. Maybe I shouldn't care LOL :)

            Hey Joe,

I had something pointed out to me that I thought I'd share. You are technically "logged in" until you click that little log out button in the upper right hand corner. You are just in line doing the potty dance until a seat opens up. That's why you see the Try Again button.
