In previous versions I could click on a printer icon to create a printable order. Does 9 have the same functionality? How can I easily print an order?

Yes.
There's two ways to do it and it sounds like you were doing it "the old" way, which you can still do.
If the top search Nav you can search for the word Legacy and Legacy Order Processing should come right up. Bookmark that and from there you can do it exactly as you did before.
Or (if you want more control and more features), from Order Processing you can select any number of orders and click Batch Report. There's a built in Invoice report natively or you can make any number of reports or downloadable files from that info.
If the old way worked perfect for you though, you can still do it. -
