Restrict Discount to 1 to 1

Can I restrict the discount I have configured in the new Marketing settings to require that for each Discounted Product placed in the basket, 1 Qualifying product must be purchased? I don't want the customer to be able to buy 1 Qualifying Product and then add all of the Discounted Products to the basket and get 10% off on each of them. I need them to buy 1 to 1.

    Thanks,
    Leslie

I checked with Dev and they said yes but you should use BuyXGetY at a 1:1 ratio to pull this off.

I must still have something not quite right. I can add 1 of the required product to the basket, but I can get a discount on more than one of allowed.

Also since I changed it to Buy X Get Y I'm not seeing the basket label anymore, even though I have a Basket Description and the Display Discount in Basket is still checked.

            Hey Leslie -

I just re-created this and got it to work. Below are my settings:

I may need you to look at this one. Those are the settings I'm using. The label is not showing up and the customer is able to order other products from the discount list and get the 10% off them too. So it could wind up being by 1 get 10% off 12 - definitely not what I'm trying to achieve.

Re: Restrict Discount to 1 to 1

The label issue has been resolved but the more pressing issue of all 12 of the products getting the discount if only 1 of the Qualifying Product is ordered is still the bigger problem. The discount needs to require 12 of the Qualifying Product be ordered to get a 10% off all 12 of the Discount Products (if ordered).

Can you PM me access to the store? I will take a look at the settings.

Thanks Brennan, I'm sure it's just one little thing that I missed.

Another question has come up - is there any way to restrict the usage of third-party module coupon codes from being used with these discounts? In this case it would be the EmporiumPlus Coupon Redemption module.

Re: Restrict Discount to 1 to 1

You can set your own variable if a discount like this was applied. Either in the charges loop or at the product level depending on the discount type. Then if this was set, hide the Emporium Plus coupon box or display a message.

But there are no native settings to restrict it. Long term you're better off to migrate the coupon functionality over to the built in version as well as this will allow you to limit discounts.
