Inventory Kits, default Variant and price

    Hello,

Has behaviour changed in Miva 9 for default pricing for inventory kits?

If I create a Default Variant - just a kit of 2 parts, and check "Price = sum of parts", The price shows up as Zero, but when added to basket shows the right price.

I know one can do the workaround of saying price = specified and put in a price. The problem with that idea in the long run is that if the component prices change, one has to remember which prices to recalculate.

Am I doing something wrong, or not taking some step? May be it works the way I think about it, but I have to check something else, fill out some other attribute or something ....

When I do it with Inventory Variants and attributes and options (generating all the permutations) , I can make the price show up correctly for a choice on the PROD page, but no on the CTGY page (where it is 0).

    Thanks
    Sam

The default variant functionality does not automatically update the product price to be a sum of all products in the kit. You'll need to use inventory kits where you have a single attribute and the kit products are tired to that or manually sum up the products in the kit and use that as the master product price so the price is reflected correctly on the Product and category pages.

Re: Inventory Kits, default Variant and price

So if I have 1 Table (Type A) and 4 Chairs (Type C)
I can have an attribute called Table, and have one option Type A
And another one called Chair and have one option Type C

Then I generate variants and I get a product that has one table and one chair.

How do I get it to have 4 chairs - that is question 1

And I played around with defaults - and I still donot get the price to showup. Though I have managed to get the price to show up for swatches.

Getting late - thanks for your help.

You would first create the attributes you need. Then go into the inventory kit builder tab and you can configure the kit and add different parts and quantity of each part associated with each attribute.

Here is a video on the process:

          Here]
I am running into this now, where the price shows up correctly on the product page but it shows as zero on the category page. I think I have it set up as you said. I have the price set up on the Inventory Variant tab to sum of the parts, I tried usung Specific Value for the price also with the same result.
