Shipping Cost/Method Assign Per Product

We're upgrading a 5.5 store to Miva 9 that has CBS Shipping SuperMod module installed. We're going away from that with Miva 9, which is fine. But, I'm wondering if there's a way we can assign a certain shipping cost per item?

Here's what the store does. 90% of the products in the store just go off of the standard FedEx shipping module (based off of weight). But, the other 10% of products, which are large doors will only ship via freight ($100). So, how do I assign the 90% of the products to FedEx and the 10% of products (doors) so that Miva will charge $100 per door ordered?

Miva has a built in shipping module called Quantity Based Shipping. It allows you to do exactly what you need. Enter 1 for the floor and + for the ceiling and 100 for the amount/unit.

Then under each product you will see a tab called Shipping Rules. Here you can select limit shipping methods and choose the Quantity based shipping method you selected above.

Keep in mind that is someone has a mixed cart where they have one item that gets the quantity based shipping and another that gets the FedEx rates, they do not get added together. Products will need to share at least one shipping method for a rate to be calculated or else not rate will be returned.

Thank you. We upgraded and did the changes you suggested. It worked great! We still are using the CBS Checkout SuperMod module, which allows for selecting different methods per item, so that will work fine.
