Assign Custom Field to Multiple Groups

The custom field groups have been a great addition. However, I would love if I could assign custom fields to multiple groups. For example I have custom fields A, B, C and D. I have product types I, II and III. I want to be able to create the following groups that apply to my product types:

Custom field group 1 (applies to product type I) contains custom fields:
A, C and D

Custom field group 2 (applies to product type II) contains custom fields:
A, B, C and D

Custom field group 2 (applies to product type III) contains custom fields:
B, C and D

Let me talk to our dev team and see if this is feasible. We haven't come across this use case before but seems like it would be a useful feature.
