Using Variable in a Product's Meta Tags

Is it possible to use variables in a product's Meta Tag Description and Meta Tag Keywords fields so they are automatically populated based on that product?

When I try it, the variables are not resolved.

You can only use variables and SMT coding on 'managed' templates. I.e., they have a Version List and Recall Link.

Try doing it without using the Miva fields, like code the variables into your own hard-coded METAs in your HEAD tag when a product page is displayed. No reason that shouldn't work I can think of.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's exactly what I am going to do. I'm sure it will work that way.
