    Authorize.net CIM Support

Is there any supported way to implement Authorize.net's CIM solution within Miva? We use Stone Edge for our store's back end and want to upgrade to their PCI version which uses payment tokenization. With this move, we want all of our processing to use CIM so the environment all works seamlessly. We don't currently authorize or capture payments until orders are approved and ready to ship, partly because a large portion of our business relies on pre-orders with long periods between order and delivery. CIM seems to be the answer for this, but I can't find anything in the world of Miva that seems like a currently-supported solution.

Has anyone else found anything for this? Is this something Miva is considering incorporating into the Authorize.net module?

    Thanks,
    Josh

I've discussed a CIM hookup with several clients. So far, no one has given it the green light. But I've done a little research on it; you can drop me a line by email to discuss it in detail.

      Hey Josh,

We developed a module called CIM Connect for Authorize.net. We offer CIM Connect for Miva Merchant as an integration service from 216digital. We can share more and give you a quote for your store if you would like to hop on a call to discuss your requirements in detail. Thanks

        Josh,

StoneEdge doesn't support Auth.net CIM, we just looked into this for another client (even in their new compliant version). But otherwise I'd recommend the 216Digital module if you still want it/need it, it's got some cool stuff in it.

          Re: Authorize.net CIM Support

Thanks everyone for the replies. Rick, I did contact Stone Edge to ask what it would take to support CIM, and they acted like it wasn't a big deal. Here's the exact response I got this morning:

"If Miva started supporting CIM, the only thing that would needed to be done on our end is to update your script so that it can pull the token from Miva. Once we have the token, we do not care what shopping cart it came from because we will contact the Payment Gateway directly."

They already support CIM in their new product, just not with Miva shopping carts. Does this information contradict what you found when you looked into this? I'm curious because I don't want to go down this road with new modules if it won't work like we're expecting.

          Thanks,
          Josh

            Hey Josh -

I've been in contact with a couple of their developers and they said they don't support Auth.net CIM in their new Version. My guess is the person you're talking to is confusing the regular auth.net which they do support with the CIM version which they don't.

Well that would certainly defeat the purpose of adding it to our store. I'll follow up with them again. Thanks, Brennan.

There is small chance the people I have been talking to were mistaken, but I doubt it.

                  Re: Authorize.net CIM Support

OK, here's the latest word from Stone Edge about this:

"We do support Authnet CIM but Miva does not. Currently, you will have to use a 3rd party plugin to be able to do CIM with Miva but we do not support that plugin currently. You can setup an Authnet CIM account within Stone Edge and use it for manual orders and it will get tokens for you manual orders but until Miva supports CIM on their side, we cannot do anything about Miva orders and CIM."

I'm going to continue the conversation with them from the standpoint of a custom solution since this obviously isn't an out-of-the-box feature right now.

Additionally, please consider this an official feature request for Miva to support Authnet CIM natively.

                  Thanks,
                  Josh

interesting. I also just reached out to my stone edge contact to confirm.

                      Re: Authorize.net CIM Support

                      Hello Brennan,

I think you are both correct. We contacted Monsoon last month about moving to StoneEdge 7.1 and their PCI payment module 1.0. It was explained to me, that StoneEdge order manager v7.1 communicates with monsoon’s PCI payment module 1.0, and it’s this separate module that communicates with the payment gateway. StoneEdge cannot communicate directly. I think that would be great if MIVA could explore what it would take to allow miva to work directly with stoneedge. In any event, most StoneEdge users know monsoons management has changes some many times in the past year and tech support is poor. Miva has a lot of stone edge users who I’m sure would appreciate the power of MIVA to actually find out what is required.

This is who implements Monsoons PCI compliant software

                        Re: Authorize.net CIM Support

I did also confirm with Stone Edge that their PCI compliant payment module in 7.1/7.5 does in fact support Auth.net CIM and uses tokens.

Miva does not have a native integration with Auth.net CIM, however 216 digital as an off the shelf module which does support it. If what I'm understanding is correct, theoretically using this module and the latest version of Stone Edge, things should just work with the existing miva connector since it already sends all the payment data to Stone Edge.

I'm going to reach out to 216 digital and see if they have any clients who use that setup and if it all works.
