Error copying control.mvc to patch_control.mvc (MER-UPG-ADM-00007)

While I was upgrading on local development site, I got an error "Error copying control.mvc to patch_control.mvc (MER-UPG-ADM-00007)".

Current version: 9.0002
Miva Script Engine: v5.20

Please help.

This is typically a permissions issue on the files and/or directories in the web content directory, or an ownership issue with who owns those directories versus who the Miva engine is running as. The ideal setup has the files owned by, and the engine running as, the same user, with only user-writable permissions on those files.

diag6.mvc was run and all passed, and IIS guest and worker process has full access to all related folders.
What is the next step?

If permissions are all good, delete the patches folder within (mivadata/Merchant5) and resume the update.

patches folder was deleted and tried again.
Still same error.

Any other suggestions?

Daniel,

After you delete the patches folder it gets recreated when you attempt to install a patch. Are the security settings correct on that folder and the files it contains?

Full permission were give to all users including IIS guest and worker process.

I noticed that there are 118 files created in patches/mm9003.
Does this mean files & folder can be created in Merchant5 folder?
