Not Mobile Friendly, CSS, SEO...............................
Re: Not Mobile Friendly, CSS, SEO...............................
We have a new tool in beta right now for switching between MMUI and CSSUI.
And when 9.0004 comes out we're officially End of Lifeing MMUI, which means you'll still be able to upgrade indefinitely to new versions, but you won't get any new shopping side features (such as Saved Baskets, Wishlists and Registries which are part of 9.0004).
Re: Not Mobile Friendly, CSS, SEO...............................
I'd like to see a real responsive site. Seems like that is a compromise between a site that looks great on a desktop and one that looks great on a mobile device. I envision something like one size fits all clothing. Can someone provide an example so I can see how one looks?
Thanks, Larry
Re: Not Mobile Friendly, CSS, SEO...............................
Switching a site from MMUI to CSS (which includes the responsive/adaptive frameworks) will 'improve' SEO...but, not by that much if this is the only thing you are doing.
BTW: The reason we didn't respond to your request is that we are a tad busy with all the Mobilegeddon ( :) Leslie) effects ATM.
Re: Not Mobile Friendly, CSS, SEO...............................
Thanks Rick: I would call that mobile version a compromise. The mobile specific site you build for us is superior in my opinion.
Especially missed the navigation bar. Only way back to my basket from OPAY is the browser back button.
But Google does classify it as web friendly. That's good.

Re: Not Mobile Friendly, CSS, SEO...............................
Rick, I like that it senses the width of the device's viewport while ours tests for a device's signature. Is there any way to incorporate that into our mobile site? I's like to be able to set a mobile/desktop switch using the <meta name="breakpoint" content="nano" media="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px)"> meta tag.

Re: Not Mobile Friendly, CSS, SEO...............................
Larry,
Not if you're using MMUI, which is I assume what you're using. A site that's primarily based on Tables (which MMUI is) is unable (or in practical terms it's not worth the investment to make) to be responsive.
Re: Not Mobile Friendly, CSS, SEO...............................
We just have a switch that determines if the mobile specific site or the desktop site is displayed. Can that switch be based on the device's width somehow? Googleing it right now.
