PayPal PayFlow discard failed order ID's

I just started using the PayPal Payflow Gateway and had a customer call because she was receiving an error at checkout about a Duplicate Order ID. Is there a setting any where like in the Authorize.net module to Discard Failed Order IDs?

I checked with dev, here's what they said: " there's a setting in the module, "Transaction Timeout" set that to 0"
    Thanks,

From what I understand if it's already at 0, then you shouldn't have had this issue. There might be a corresponding setting to configure in the PayFlow Admin.

No, it was previously set at 30, I just changed it to 0 as you said. I was just asking if I should leave it at 0 forever now or if that will cause any other issue? Thanks

Re: PayPal PayFlow discard failed order ID's

Okay I checked PayPal today and I see that I am still losing several orders due to duplicate transactions. I tested it myself and here is what happens...

First I attempt to place an order with an error in the address (in order to test the duplicate) , AVS catches it and displays an error "Unable to authorize payment: Declined by Fraud Service" this error does not give the customer any idea what was wrong, in my case a simple typo, but the customer will have no idea what was wrong and abandon.

Next, I fix the error and try and checkout again (about 3 minutes have passed) and I get this error: "Unable to authorize payment: Duplicate trans: 10536-The transaction was refused as a result of a duplicate invoice ID supplied. Attempt with a new invoice ID" The customer has no way to fix this problem and abandons.

                Jim,

You'll need to login to your PayPal account, go into your Profile settings and under the 'Block Accidental Payments' option choose "No, allow multiple payments per invoice."
