    3rd Party Social Sharing Code

    How is this implemented?

I have placed facebook code in there, but how do we reference the product? I tried using some template code, but it just shows as text. ie. I'd like people to be able to like a product, not the site. Especially since thats where this code shows - on the product page.

I checked the docs, and google, bit can't find any details.

    Something like this:
    <fb:like href="http://www.domain.com/page/PROD/&mvt:product:code;" send="false" layout="button_count" width="200" show_faces="false"></fb:like>

      Hi Pamela,
Thats exactly what I did - and all that shows is exactly that. "&mvt:product:code;"

By the way, have you checked out SumoMe? That group of tools rocks!

I might try it once I know the proper way to use what Miva offers.
In the meantime - anyone?? Anyone use this (the third party sharing), or know how?

Sorry, missed what you were asking. That's for including code you'd get from, say, AddShoppers, etc.

Are you referring to the new function that ReadyTheme offers? It uses the token <mvt:item name="readytheme" param="thirdpartysharing" /> or at least I think it does. I'm playing with it right now, trying to figure out how to display code I entered into the Social Icons > 3rd Party SocialSharing Code field.

Re: 3rd Party Social Sharing Code

Typically, if an input form in the admin is simply a text box, it doesn't support the processing of SMT items (i.e., its not a managed template) so using &mvt:product:code; won't work. Managed template input fields should also have a date, note and recall controls.

Sorry to not have a direct answer, but i'd echo what Pamela says to use SumoMe.
