      How do you know it is still in your cart. Every time you revisit the store it resets the time so your basket may never time out if you keep checking it. Since you are the only one visiting the dev store, you would need to visit with a different browser.

        At this point I feel I can say with some confidence that the module is not working. I have tried it on multiple browsers using multiple email addresses over a period of 3 days. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I have checked and double checked the installation instructions. Where the module seems to have had some basic functionality before the reinstall, it seems not to work now at all. Several times sinceI abandoned carts with products just before making payment. before the install I deleted all shopping baskets and packed the data files several times. I did this and went to the shopping cart page from separate computers. The module used to send me "restock shelves" reports. I still get these, but now they do not identify any customer info or content.

        Bill, I know you design great modules. I have been a loyal customer for years. I can't image this is any different. What can I do?

          Update. I am getting the "restock shelves' reporting emails. I just got one. I guess it was delayed by my email system. I am not, however, receiving the "customer retention' emails. Bill, I see you put something in your card, did you receive the email?

            No, I didn't get an email. Check the mail server logs for errors. The customer emails would have been sent a few seconds before the report email. So look for failures at that time period.

                  I'm not familiar with the mail server logs, but I don't see anywhere in the log you displayed anything about sending emails. You might want to get the help of your mail server host.

                    Perhaps that was not the mail server log. I'll see if I can ask my host for access to the mail server error log.

                      OK. I've been in communication with my server and unfortunately, the module still does not work. They tweaked the mail settings a little, but there are no blocked emails, suggesting a problem at the module level. Since I am getting reporting emails from the module, it seems clear that

                      a. the module can send emails
                      b. the module is getting the information it needs from the server.

                      so for some reason the only problem is that it is not sending the customer retention emails.

                      What next?

                        You are not looking for the blocking of emails. You are looking for an error when it tries to send, e.g. invalid "from" address. You should see an entry for the email sending at the same time you see an entry for the report email being sent.
