Re: Anyone Tried the MMUI to CSSUI conversion tool yet?

Turned out that the body tag was never updated in the process of converting from MMUI nor installing the frameworks.
I had that same issue, too.

Right now, I still can't get my icons to show up. so no little magnifying glass for search and no telephone icon for the phone number.

I've seen this happen if you're viewing the non-www version of the site instead of the www version. None of the fonts or icons would work.

By the way: I should add that the mmui2cssui tool is actually PRETTY EASY to use. I just happened to have a hard time with it because 1) I didn't understand the basic concept (that your live store customer / order data does NOT have to be copied and reimported), and 2) because I had a lot on my plate.

          Thanks, Ron:

It seems that something in my .htaccess file was messing it up... but I think I have it resolved now.

            Hi,
I just spent 4 months manually transferring from MMUI to CCSUI. I asked MIVA support if there was a method to convert my store and was told I had to do it manually. Why didn't they mention this option? Wasted a lot of time I can't get back.

We don't normally announce modules before they come out, but they should've told you this was coming. I had been talking about it on the Forums for about 3 months before we released it.
              Thanks,

Re: Anyone Tried the MMUI to CSSUI conversion tool yet?

So I'm attempting to apply a framework created after going through the process of converting an exact copy of the live store, then running the MMUI to CSSUI converter. I used the Iron & Wool theme to build the framework with. After finishing the work, I saved the framework. I put the live store into maintenance mode, ran the converter, uploaded the framework and tried to apply it. The first time around I got a specific error about "Failed to copy yada yada image", so I thought I would try applying the framework leaving the Overwrite Images unchecked (after creating a list of the images in the framework). After doing that I get a new failure."Failed to apply framework: 1 image already exist" - would be nice to know what image already exists. Now I'm impatiently waiting for support to get back with me.

Usually you will need to overwrite all images. The first time you got the error, what image did it fail on?

I have a screenshot of it if you need it. Jim is working on it right now, but I'm not sure how far along he's gotten.

Yeah but when what I broke doesn't seem to have a fix, I'm not sure I want it. I'm still waiting for a resolution to what I broke on Tuesday. I can't move forward until it gets figured out

I know this is a hard question to answer - how much time might I want to set aside to do this? Are we talking a few hours of work, or set aside a week worth of 8 hour days?

I think it's time to convert. There are just too many awesome features in CSSUI that our store seems to be missing out on!

Running the tool itself is very easy. But you will want to do it on a dev copy of your store first. Then you will be left with the Default CSSUI layout. From there you can apply a ReadyTheme framework and tweak it. How long it takes you to tweak either the Default CSSUI layout or the ReadyTheme is going to really depend on how you want it to look. Then after you get your look tweaked, you will repeat the process on your live store. Barring any unforeseen problem like I seem to be able to find this step should go quickly too. So yeah a ballpark estimate all depends on each situation.

We don't want to change our site design, we just want the CSSUI back end more than anything else. Will our site design carry over or would I have to do all of that work manually?
