    Built in Phone Order Manager

Is there anyway to have the built in phone order manager in the Miva Admin send merchant notification order emails?

Yes, have you looked at the Reference Guide? It covers all of that. www.miv.com/referenceguide

      Hi Rick,

Since the guide is 756 pages, could you direct us to the particular page(s) where this is mentioned?

Also, if the Phone Order Manager within MIVA is simply creating an order in Order Processing it's not really the same thing...in our admin for example, adding a product from the lookup screen takes several seconds and locks up often (maybe there's an issue in our store)? But this would also mean that all agents would have to have a login, hence a $50/month seat. This is cost prohibitive.

Well the $50 for that feature is precisely why it's there, so there's no way around that.

As for your admin loading slowly, something else is wrong if that's happening, you should talk to support.

Re: Built in Phone Order Manager

So if we decided to spend the money and go with this as a solution, we have one more question/suggestion. Currently, MIVA begins creating an order record the minute the New Order button is clicked. This is problematic because if someone clicks "Download" in a 3rd party shipping program while an order is being added by an agent, that order will download with only partial order info (and possibly without yet being paid for), with no way of updating it after the order is finished being entered.

Perhaps this could be fixed if there was a "Save" or Finalize" button on the screen that only created an order/order number that would be considered downloadable when we are finished entering the order.

          Thanks

We do have plans to fix that issue, not exactly in the way you're describing, but yes that is a known issue and will likely be solved in 9.0005 in roughly October.

If the cost of admin access is prohibative, what prevents you from entering the order just from the front side of the site?

It also might be the preferable option. We've used a "front-side" phone order system for several clients. Typically its a page in the site that is protected by availability group or IP. This allows you to tailor the interface to the specific job. For example, commonly ordered items can be on top, or as with most of these installations, the "Catalog" is driven by a search interface and also supports multi add to basket. Furthermore, options like "sign up for newsletters" and the like can also easily added.

Another advantage is that google analytics can be set up to track these orders separably.
