UPS Rates not showing when switching from FedEx - Temporarily until FedEx back

I am trying to switch on UPS until FedEx is back up for us.

I know UPS and FedEx can't operate at the same time because of UPS and their annoying policies.... So...

I deactivated the FedEx Web Services Module in the Modules section, added UPS, registered in the Production path, and no rates. If it because I didn't "remove" the module from the shipping area? To do So I have to remove all orders from the store that used in the past, which I do not want to do.

    Any ideas?

I know, but the time I get this working FedEx will be back :)

No, deactivating the module should be sufficient. Which domain is this for?

I set UPS back to test mode since I didn't want to complicate matters with the FedEx issues. Well at least make things worse when the update rolls out.

This isn't a priority if FedEx will be back up sooner than later.

I didn't open a ticket for this because once FedEx is up it doesn't matter. Just was looking for a quick fix.

FedEx is up (for us and most), so you'll need to regenerate a Meter.

One thing that's changed is FedEx now validates the info put in to regenerate a Meter, so if it doesn't exactly match your FedEx account it will fail.

So even without an update/patch regenerating the meter number should work? I tried that and I got the "Authentication Failed" dialog.

The company/account info looks correct but I am going to have a physical bill pulled just in case there is a mismatch.

Yes, the information in the module is most likely not correct. It could be as simple as the company name being different.

So, I had a physical bill pulled and it still will not let me generate a new meter.

I tried various combinations of phone numbers and no luck.

There are 2 names it could have been (store and parent company, bill is parent company name), numerous phone numbers which are not listed on the physical bill for some reason, and then two addresses Physical and PO Box.

Do you know which fields they are authenticating against? I assume the bolded fields in the module?

OR is it pulling the information from the main store settings?

When you first activate the module it pulls from the store owner info but the authentication uses whatever you put in the module.

                  Back to the original topic....

I know UPS will not work when FedEx is active unless you have a waiver (which UPS still hasn't granted us after 7 months).

In the Shipping Method Rules Only USPS and UPS show, no FedEx, which is correct. Now even if I deactivated the FedEx module (not removed) is the UPS module seeing that it is "active" or better yet "installed" and won't show rates?

In the past we only used the Viking Coders and not had to deal with the "UPS doesn't like competitors rates showing" flag :)
