    9.0004 shipresidential checkbox in MMUI?

I saw a thread response from Brennan regarding the 9.0004 ship residential checkbox feature. Cannot find that thread now so am asking my question here.
In our MMUI dev region I went to the Customer fields and set the ship residential to Company. Then looking at the OCST page, I do not see the code that Brennan's post said would be added. I also do not see a shipresidential checkbox within the view source of the OCST page.
We are using Viking Coders UPS shipping module, I'm guessing this is why it is missing.
    Brennan, can you confirm this?

    Thanks,

More on this: Took another look at my OCST page and see that it was updated when I made the residential checkbox change.

Following Brennan's suggestion in the original thread, I then recalled the prior version of the customer template and clicked update. Now the OCST page really looks screwed up. Some of the input fields now don't display until a cursor is passed over them. Another input field with a yellow background doesn't show yellow unit the cursor is passed over it.
This has also caused weird display of the ACED and ACAD pages.

Backed out the ship residential changes and the weird display appears to have been a cache issue. Looks like I've recovered our prior pages.

Hi Brennan: I thought about this overnight and realized that we don't want to change the way we currently calculate UPS shipping with an install of 9.000 in our production stores.
Reason: It's not unusual for our business customers to have residential deliveries of their purchases, as many businesses now operate from their own residence. Depending on the decision to charge a business delivery rate based on an entry in the business name is going to cost us money via chargebacks.

Is there a way to install 9.0004 without this change to the UPS shipping calculation?

Now I see that OSEL, OPAY and INVC pages have been changed also.
I want to back all of this out!
Brennan, can you provide a complete list of the pages I need to update to remove this change.
        Thanks,

I though the customer settings update OCST, ACED and ACAD, but you may be right and it impacts all the checkout pages

The 9.0004 implementation of the UPS residential/business indicator is in my opinion unworthy of Miva. It is poorly conceived and executed. Basing shipping charges on the presence of a business name is not workable. If our residential customers want a discounted shipping charge, they only need to key a business name? crazy! This is definitely not workable for us! Why wasn't this done with an API call to UPS?
Also, this feature should be an option, available to the store, not forced down our throats like a big government program.

Seeing what this has done to our dev site, I cannot imagine going to 9.0004 with our production sites.

              Larry,

The Company name being filled in is how this has always worked and is not new to 9.0004.

There is no API Call (that I know of) to validate a business address vs a residential address and the industry standard is the checkbox option which we added in 9.0004.
              Thanks,

                Hi Rick:
                Thanks for your reply.
We haven't noticed this happening on our sites in the past. I hope since we use the Viking UPS shipping module, we are exempt from this residential/business decision. If you can verify that, we will proceed with the install of 9.0004.

That's correct, using the Viking modules this doesn't apply.
