    Import Tracking Numbers

We have a higher volume store that needs to import in their tracking numbers and change shipping status to 'shipped'.

Is there a way to ftp a file with the correct tracking numbers and have that file used to update the tracking numbers and shipping status?

    Re: Import Tracking Numbers

Yes Miva has a built in import for tracking numbers:

See page 315 on the reference guide:

      Re: Import Tracking Numbers

Thank you. I managed to find some better instruction throughout a few forum threads.

Is there a way to ftp a file with the correct tracking numbers and have that file used to update the tracking numbers and shipping status? They want it to be more automated if possible.

I ran a test and manually imported a csv file for one order and one tracking number. The tracking number was entered into the order and status changed to 'Shipped' but the email we have setup to get sent upon shipment was not sent. Is there a way to get that to send automatically as well?

        Re: Import Tracking Numbers

This whole process can be automated but it requires the use of Miva Enterprise Connect. Reach out to our Strategy & Solutions team and they can get you some more information on it:

Regarding the email not being sent, under Order Fulfillment Settings, then Template Based Emails, make sure the Shipment Shipped email is set to "automatic"

          Re: Import Tracking Numbers

The email is set to "automatic" already so it sends out when they manually enter tracking numbers in admin. It sent when I manually went into the admin and had it resent, but it didn't send when I imported in the file. Anyway to correct the issue?

I will see if importing will work for the client. Is Miva Enterprise Connect a module?

Yes it is a group of 2 different module and some server side tools (for automation). You must be on a dedicated server to use them.

Any ideas how to fix the email getting sent out if we use the import feature to enter the tracking numbers? It is already set to 'automatic'.

                Re: Import Tracking Numbers

I just tested this in my store and it sent the email. Can you try marking an order as shipped via the admin, does it send the email then?

Yes, I received the email when doing it from admin.

                    Re: Import Tracking Numbers

Ok if the email is working, there must be something with the import

What does the data look like you are importing?

                      Re: Import Tracking Numbers

Attached is a screen shot of my csv file. Am I missing some data? I have "order" (order number), "tracktype" (FedEx), "tracknum" (tracking number). "shipment_code" and "cost" are blank.

That all looks correct. Could the email be going into your Spam folder? Try another test and if it does not work, email me admin access and I can take look

Must have been an email glitch previously. It worked fine this time. Thanks.
