Thanks for the info, I hope we get good news. We've done phone orders in the past and can likely go back without massive fuss should a suitable alternative not present itself but I'd rather not.

Besides, I would imagine someone reading my email would be able to understand the context despite it lacking certain approved keywords.
It does not have to be that phrase specifically. If there is anything to suggest it is felt that we made a mistake in the plan assignment, we will send it for review even if not requested explicitly.

You stated "we have no need for the $250 plan", so the assumption was that you did not understand that the plan assignment was based on revenue and not traffic, disk space, seats, or other components of the higher plans that you may not make use of at this time.

I will have the ticket reassigned for a review.

Rick, are you still getting back to people who asked for a Tier/Pricing review? It's been about 3 weeks since you told me that you'd look into it for www.preparesmart.com.

              Thanks.

Re: Update on Pricing from Miva, Inc.

I received an email about this yesterday and obviously shocked that whats going to happen.
From $100 to about $1500? Anyway I am hoping for a favorable review as there is no way we can sustain such an increase, It will be like renting another 3000 sq ft warehouse.
In a nut shell, I believe in paying for what we use, if we use 10 GB of space, sign us up for that plan (and other factors of course) but not based on revenue. In our industry, revenue is razor thin, we might gross $1 Mil but if profit is only $50k, we could be worst off then a company grossing $100k, but keep 90k as profit.

Anyway, hopefully our review will have a positive outcome, Keeping my fingers crossed

                      Vincent,

I'm sure we'll work out something amicable.

On the other hand though paying for what you use is not even close to being defined by 10GB of space. Our costs for things like disk, bandwidth and data center are less than 5% of our total cost structure.

That gets quickly to the heart of the problem we're trying to solve, when 95% of our costs are not represented in our current pricing model something is "broken".

There's no perfect fix for this problem. If we charged "retail" for our intellectual property we'd end up going the Magneto Enterprise route and charging $20k+ annually for just the software and you'd pay for hosting on top of it.

Turning every knob, choice and input box into the software into an a la carte fee is not tenable either (nor would it be explainable to new customers).

That basically leaves us with either using Gross Sales, Transactions or Page Views as a proxy for "paying for what you use".

All have their pluses and minuses (which have been discussed previously in depth) and we've decided that gross revenue, with a site review process was most reasonable.

Re: Update on Pricing from Miva, Inc.

I have a question about the criteria used for pricing. Since revenue is now a key component to establish the pricing of Miva software, do sales if items on Amazon and Ebay count towards those figures if the transaction imported into Miva?

The reason I'm asking we need to decide if we are going to import to Miva or bypass it altogether and import the sales directly into our backend software. If Ebay and Amazon sales are counted, you would essentially be taking a hit on both platforms if the external sales push you from one price tier to the next.

                          Thank You,

I'd understand these price increases if there weren't so many common features that I have to constantly hire developers or Miva design to create and implement.

We've added more features in the last 2 years than at any point in history.

Feel free to let me know what you're looking for though, I and we take customer input seriously.

Yes they count, but keep in mind if a huge % of your sales are from those channels, let us know. That's something we factor into our pricing decisions.

There's also a "maximum" price if you will, which is essentially the same as Magneto Enterprise. You can lease a license for $20k per year, you'd pay for hosting on top of that, but at that point revenue is no longer on the table.
                                Thanks,
