Order A or B get free shipping but not on products X, Y, or Z.

I need to be able to offer Free Shipping if one of two different products are ordered (it doesn't need to be both). But I have a list of products that will cancel out the free shipping if they are added to the order. I would like to be able to use the Marketing feature so this can be turned on and off (for Cyber Monday only).

there is no concept of products that "cancels" out a price group.

You may be better off doing this is the templates. Create a new Free shipping methods, add some logic that checks to see if the qualifying products are in the cart and not the canceling products, and if both conditions are met set a flag to allow the free shipping method to show.

I swear I had done this before using one of Bill's modules. So there is no way to assign all of the eligible products leaving out the ones that are not eligible?

You can definitely set the qualifying products and discounted (eligible) products. That is no problem. However as soon as one of the qualifying products are in the cart the customer will get the discount.

There is no rules to say "if X,Y,Z are in the cart don't give the the discount"

If you did product based free shipping, you could setup the discounted products and leave X,Y,Z out. This would still show free shipping as a method (assuming they have the qualifying products) but it would exclude the weights of X,Y,Z

So this would have to be set up at the product level? Would I have to go through and assign the shipping methods to all of the products?

No as a price group. There is a Product Specific Shipping Discount you can choose as a discount type

Is there a tutorial for this? I think I'm going to need step by step instructions. I did some of this but must have done something wrong - starting with not having a Free Shipping method created? I created a Price Group for All Shoppers with the Type: Shipping Discount (Discounted Products Only).

I just noticed that the Price Group is seeing the Free Shipping method from the EP Sort Shipping module. Should I give it a 100% Discount?

Like I said, a tutorial would be helpful.

You would only need the free shipping method if you went the template route.

If you are creating a price group, it is just a normal price group with qualifying products and discounted products.

Yeah, I'm confused - I tried the Price Group route and didn't get the free shipping

I'm going to circle back around to this and go with the method I had been using before all of the new Marketing Prices Group. The EmporiumPlus Sort Shipping Plus Free Shipping Option does exactly what I need it to. I can set it for 2 products and excluded the ones that are not supposed to get free shipping. I was just hoping that the Marketing Price Groups was able to do this too.

The ability to exclude particular products through Miva's couponing feature would be a great addition.

I have a similar type of issue where I used to use the EP Sort Shipping module to offer a special flat rate shipping that would only apply if the basket contained just those particular items - there does not currently seem to be a way to do that with the built in couponing system.

Unfortunately I can no longer use the EP Sort Shipping module as it seems to cause problems with the "Estimate Shipping" feature in our basket.
