    Product Import problems

Can anybody else confirm that the product import from flat file does not
update the thumb url or image urls? My initial import worked fine, but
my image paths were wrong. So I tried to correct them by updating
existing products and importing the new paths. None of the image or
thumb paths changed. If someone else can confirm it, I'd appreciate it
so we can get this fixed.

    FWIW: <A HREF ="http://www.pinemporium.com/mm5/merchant.mvc has about 50 modules">http://www.pinemporium.com/mm5/merchant.mvc has about 50 modules</A>
installed if you wanted to see how modules effect performance. This is
a shared server and there are about 600 products. Essentially, I
duplicated the Emporium Plus database for this test store.

As I previously indicated, I have had the same problem (and some others). The only solution I have found is to delete all products and upload the flat file again.

Note that I have since installed the latest version of MivaMia I no longer seem to have that problem with the Mia copy but the update wizard won't install the 5.01 update on the server and I suspect that may be partly responsible for the problem of the server copy. In other words, the problems I am experiencing could be due to not having the latest version.

Dunno it that's any help but FWIW.

I finally gave up doing the import. I could not remove and reimport as
I already have 50 modules installed and some of them tie into product
IDs. Anyway, I pulled the products.dbf and products.dbt off the server
and opened them with dbaseIII plus. Ran a little routine and now all
the thumb and image fields are fixed. There are some internal image
links in the descriptions but I'll fix them later. The result is that
the data that is in Emporium Plus can be displayed in a 5x store to see
how fast the new MM5 is. It seems to be pretty fast.
